The appointed Associate Professor will be expected to make a significant contribution to excellence in research within the area of translational neuroscience. The appointee will be expected to establish a research team that complements the activities of the Translational Neuroscience Facility in the School of Medical Sciences.

Research area: The skeleton and blood vessels (dys)function: implications for cardiovascular disease
The project: This PhD project will explore novel targets to treat and prevent blood vessels dysfunction and it is a basic science/preclinical project. As such, potential candidates must have an honour degree (1st class) or Masters by Research degree in the area of biomedical sciences, molecular biology or equivalent. Previous experience in working with animals and/or cell culture is an advantage. Previous publications and previous research experience are desired.
