AuPS Melbourne 2008 meeting
Instructions for Presenters
Posters:
- The dimensions of the poster boards used at the meeting are 1.2 metres
(120cm) wide by 2 metres high.
Please ensure your poster will fit on the poster boards provided and
that it does not exceed these measurements.
The RECOMMENDED poster dimensions are 1 metre wide by 1.2 metres high.
- They should be placed on the poster boards on Monday Morning by 11am and
be removed Wednesday morning by 11am.
- Each poster board will be labeled with an abstract
number relating to the conference programme
- Posters will be attached with Velcro fasteners; these
will be provided and can be obtained from the conference registration desk
- Posters will be manned on Tuesday, Dec 2, for one hour starting from either 1.30 pm (odd
numbers) or 2.30 pm (even numbers)
Free communications:
- Speakers have 10 min in which to deliver their
presentation
- 5 min of question time is provided for discussion
following each presentation

Presentation format and compatibility:

The pixel resolution of projectors used in all theatres is 1024 X 768
- For Macs - OS-X - Keynote
Windows XP/2003 – PowerPoint
- For PCs -
Windows XP/2003 – PowerPoint
- Presentations should only contain
True Type fonts and these should be embedded
- All linked files such as animations
should be embedded
- All computers will support Quicktime
animations
- If speakers insist on using their own
computers, compatibility with the audiovisual system cannot be guaranteed
Loading presentations onto
conference computer system:
- It is recommended that presenters bring their presentations on a
portable USB drive
- Both Mac and PC computers are available for loading
presentations
- Speakers should load their presentation onto the
conference system the day before their presentation if possible
- For Monday, this means loading the presentation on
Sunday afternoon
- For day-only attendees, the presentation should be
loaded in the break prior to the commencement of the session at the latest
- A speaker-ready room will be available to check your
presentation
Other presentation tools
provided:
- Laser pointer
- Computer remote control
- Lectern
- Microphone
- Presentations will be controlled at the lectern by the
presenter
Audiovisual assistance:
- The session chairperson can provide guidance
- An audiovisual technician will be available to address
technical issues
