Initiation and backpropagation of action potentials in central neurons

My talk will describe work investigating the location of action potential initiation in neurons of the central nervous system. In addition, I will describe research showing that once action potentials are initiated they actively propagation back into the dendritic tree. The implications of this action potential backpropagation for synaptic integration and plasticity will be discussed.
