AuPS/ASB 2016 Adelaide - Travel

The conference begins Sunday 4 Dec 2016 at 5:00pm with the AuPS Plenary lecture, followed by the Welcome Reception.

Three solid days of conference are planned, with the meeting officially closing on Wednesday 7 Dec 2016 at 5:00pm.

AuPS Student Travel Grants
  • Download guidelines and application form (Word) file.
    Student non-members wishing to qualify for travel assistance should apply for membership at least two weeks prior to their registration.
Adelaide airport to conference venue
  • Adelaide International Airport.
    Domestic and international operators include Qantas, Virgin, Jetstar, Tiger Airways, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia, Air New Zealand.
  • Driving directions from the airport to the CBD (~7.5 km): Follow the exit signs from the airport leading to the City.
    Turn right on Sir Donald Bradman Drive and proceed east, left on West Terrace and right on North Terrace.
    The closest car park is off Hindley St (turn right before North Terrace).
    Otherwise continue on North Terrace and park at the Convention centre (on the left just after you go under the bridge).
Rental car
  • Major car rental companies have vehicles for reservation and hire at or near the Adelaide airport include Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Access, Thrifty.
    Small independent companies near the airport are also available.
Airport taxis
  • Taxis queue outside the baggage claim area on the ground floor level on the left. Expected fare for a trip from the airport to the city is approximately $25.
Public transportation
  • Adelaide Metro JetExpress service runs from the airport to Currie St in downtown Adelaide (2 blocks south of the conference site).
  • Adelaide Metro provides an integrated system of bus, tram and train service throughout the extended Adelaide and Adelaide Hills regions.
    Passes can be purchased at Newsagents, the Metro Info Centre downtown, on-line and by phone.
    Single use or day passes can be purchased on the bus. Change is provided.
  • The Glenelg tram timetable and route can be accessed here.
    The tram runs from Glenelg, up King William St and passes the conference site on North Tce.
    The tram is free from the south side of the CBD to the UniSA stop.
