There are a number of social functions and events for you to attend during the conference.
The conference begins on Sunday evening with a welcome reception featuring Prof. Housley's invited lecture. This will be followed by a cocktail reception with finger food and refreshments in Cossar Hall where you can admire the beautiful Sissons Mural.
The cost of the reception is covered in your registration fee (additional tickets may be purchased by following the registration process)
The annual conference dinner on the Tuesday night will be held at the beautiful Melbourne Museum Foyer and walk celebrated for its striking architecture. The surrounding exhibits are one-of-a-kind, with the lush Forest Gallery as an enchanting backdrop and the awe-inspiring blue whale skeleton at the west end of the Walk something to remember.
The three course sit-down dinner (included in your registration) should not be missed (additional tickets may be purchased by following the registration process).
If you wish to use public transport to reach the venue, you may catch a tram (route 86 or 96) to the corner of Nicholson and Gertrude Streets, the free City Circle Tram to Victoria Parade, or the City loop train to Parliament station. The student and early career researcher mixer is on Monday evening, 7pm. Join your fellow physiologists for some valuable networking!
This year's mixer will be held at The Captain Melville located at 34 Franklin Street, in the Melbourne CBD. Please indicate your attendance at the event via the conference registration process. The cost is $15 (includes drinks and food).
If travelling from the Parkville campus, catch the No. 19 tram at the Walker St/Royal Pde stop (on Royal Parade, opposite the conference venue) to the Queen Victoria Market stop. The Captain Melville is a 300m walk from this stop (continue on Elizabeth St and turn left onto Franklin Street)
