2021 Program

General Information

The 2021 scientific meeting will be hosted by Griffith University on the Gold Coast. The website will be updated regularly with information about travel, events and the scientific programme.

This is a particularly special meeting for AuPS as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the conference. During the conference we will reflect on the significant history of the society and the contributions of so many to this professional association.

Conference Format

Join us on the Gold Coast

As in previous years, the conference at Griffith University will run over 3.5 days, starting with a Symposium and Welcome Reception on Sunday night. Invited lectures, Symposia, Free Communication and Poster sessions will run from Monday morning to Wednesday afternoon and there will be opportunities for catching up with friends and networking during lunch and social events such as the Conference dinner where we will celebrate 60 years of AuPS at the magnificent Skypoint.

Attend a conference hub

For those who are unable to travel to the Gold Coast, you can attend one of six hubs (located in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart and Canberra) which will live stream sessions from the conference starting on Monday morning through the end of the conference on Wednesday. In true conference style this will provide opportunities to socialise with other members over lunch and during poster sessions all within the hub.

*We request that speakers presenting invited talks, symposia and free communication sessions attend the conference on the Gold Coast (please contact Deanne Skelly, the local organising committee Chair if COVID restrictions prevent this). Those presenting poster sessions can do so from the hubs.

Conference Programme

A list of invited speakers and symposia is now available. The full programme will be released in October

Invited Lectures

The invited lecture for 2021 will be delivered by Prof Matthew Watt from University of Melbourne. This is a well-deserved honour given Prof Watt's considerable scientific contributions to physiology and his long-term service and leadership to AuPS. We also have the pleasure of former President AuPS, Prof David Adams delivering the AuPS Plenary lecture.

Symposia

The conference will feature ten symposia spanning a range of physiological sciences, presented by national and international speakers. A list of symposia may be found here.

Workshops

The Education and Student & ECR workshops are regular feature of the AuPS conference

Free Communications and Poster Presentations

Abstract submissions for free communication sessions and poster presentations are now open. Abstracts will be considered for Free Communication sessions and Poster presentations. We ask that speakers granted an oral presentation attend the conference on the Gold Coast. If you are unable to attend, please select 'poster presentation' when submitting your abstract.
